CVE-2024-0229 | 3 Fedoraproject, Redhat, X.org | 8 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus and 5 more | 2024-10-18 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
An out-of-bounds memory access flaw was found in the X.Org server. This issue can be triggered when a device frozen by a sync grab is reattached to a different master device. This issue may lead to an application crash, local privilege escalation (if the server runs with extended privileges), or remote code execution in SSH X11 forwarding environments.
CVE-2024-3183 | 1 Redhat | 5 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus, Enterprise Linux Eus and 2 more | 2024-09-25 | N/A | 8.1 HIGH |
A vulnerability was found in FreeIPA in a way when a Kerberos TGS-REQ is encrypted using the client’s session key. This key is different for each new session, which protects it from brute force attacks. However, the ticket it contains is encrypted using the target principal key directly. For user principals, this key is a hash of a public per-principal randomly-generated salt and the user’s password. If a principal is compromised it means the attacker would be able to retrieve tickets encrypted to any principal, all of them being encrypted by their own key directly. By taking these tickets and salts offline, the attacker could run brute force attacks to find character strings able to decrypt tickets when combined to a principal salt (i.e. find the principal’s password).
CVE-2016-5195 | 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more | 18 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 15 more | 2024-07-24 | 7.2 HIGH | 7.0 HIGH |
Race condition in mm/gup.c in the Linux kernel 2.x through 4.x before 4.8.3 allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging incorrect handling of a copy-on-write (COW) feature to write to a read-only memory mapping, as exploited in the wild in October 2016, aka "Dirty COW."
CVE-2023-3972 | 1 Redhat | 19 Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Aus, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 16 more | 2024-07-03 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
A vulnerability was found in insights-client. This security issue occurs because of insecure file operations or unsafe handling of temporary files and directories that lead to local privilege escalation. Before the insights-client has been registered on the system by root, an unprivileged local user or attacker could create the /var/tmp/insights-client directory (owning the directory with read, write, and execute permissions) on the system. After the insights-client is registered by root, an attacker could then control the directory content that insights are using by putting malicious scripts into it and executing arbitrary code as root (trivially bypassing SELinux protections because insights processes are allowed to disable SELinux system-wide).
CVE-2017-10661 | 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat | 6 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux and 3 more | 2024-03-14 | 7.6 HIGH | 7.0 HIGH |
Race condition in fs/timerfd.c in the Linux kernel before 4.10.15 allows local users to gain privileges or cause a denial of service (list corruption or use-after-free) via simultaneous file-descriptor operations that leverage improper might_cancel queueing.
CVE-2019-11478 | 6 Canonical, F5, Ivanti and 3 more | 24 Ubuntu Linux, Big-ip Access Policy Manager, Big-ip Advanced Firewall Manager and 21 more | 2024-02-27 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
Jonathan Looney discovered that the TCP retransmission queue implementation in tcp_fragment in the Linux kernel could be fragmented when handling certain TCP Selective Acknowledgment (SACK) sequences. Jonathan Looney discovered that the TCP_SKB_CB(skb)->tcp_gso_segs value was subject to an integer overflow in the Linux kernel when handling TCP Selective Acknowledgments (SACKs). A remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service. This has been fixed in stable kernel releases 4.4.182, 4.9.182, 4.14.127, 4.19.52, 5.1.11, and is fixed in commit 3b4929f65b0d8249f19a50245cd88ed1a2f78cff. |
